Obituary

Yesterday while we were with my family, I received a couple of things that Grandma wanted me to have. She had decided awhile ago which dishes she wanted to go to everyone. This is what I got:The best part? She wrote my name on the bottom so they knew it was mine. You better believe that tag isn't coming off. In the last couple of years, she had little function in her hands, so this must have been awhile ago that she wrote this.
Here is her Obituary:

Florence L. E age 96 of Hudson died Saturday, April 26, 2008 at the Christian Community Home, where she was a resident since January. She was born the daughter of Herman and Emma T on December 21, 1911 in Pine City, MN. Florence taught for several years at a country school in Pine City. On October 9, 1937, she married Emmett E. The couple stayed in Pine City and were blessed with five children; Murray, Kaye, Tom, Clay and Joel. In 1955, the family moved to Hudson. Florence was an active member of Trinity Lutheran Church for 53 years. She is preceded in death by her parents; brothers, sisters, and her husband, Emmett (1984). Florence is survived by her children, Murray E, Kaye (David) M, Tom (Vickie) E, Clay (Janet) E, Joel (Diane) E; 10 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren; special sister-in-law, Lauretta T; and many nieces and nephews. Florence’s entire 96 years were solely devoted to the love of her church and her family. Nothing was more important. She was also very creative and loved to sew, knit, bake and braid rugs. She made homemaking an art form long before Martha Stewart. Flowers and the beauty of nature were a constant joy in her life as were her friends. She worked so hard for so many years, always trusting someday God would bring her home. Let God and the angels care for you now, Mom, today heaven has become a much richer place. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, April 30th at 11:00 am at Trinity Lutheran Church with The Rev. Tim Booth officiating. Visitation will be from 10:00-11:00 am Wednesday before the service at the church. Interment will be in Willow River Cemetery with Nathan, Joseph , David, and Luke E, Jason S and Aaron M as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers are Lois T, Emily S and Sharon S.

Sad Day

My Grandma Florence passed away today at around 3pm. She was 96 years old. Up until January, she lived in her own house by herself. She had ALS, so it was hard for her to do anything. She had no function in one of her arms and only two fingers that worked on the other one. She was a tough person, but very kind hearted. This is a picture of her and I at Christmas of 2006. I'm glad that she gets to see my Grandpa again, they've been apart for about 25 years. The last time I saw her was Easter. She was on oxygen all of the time and using a wheelchair, but she was still tough as nails. I hope I can be as classy as she was when I am older. I already miss her a lot, even though I know she is watching over all of us.

Baron's 7, Haircut, and The Promised Bat Update

First off, today is Baron's 7th birthday! He doesn't look (or act) a day over two! :) Isn't he so cute?Second, I got my haircut on Tuesday. I'm terrible at taking photos of myself in the mirror, but here's one anyway. Finally, the bat story. We've had a bat in the house since about February. I've seen this thing about 5 different times. Everytime it has appeared, my MIL and FIL have come over to get rid of it. Once, FIL actually caught it and released it outside. We thought that was the end of it. We were wrong. The most dramatic time the bat has been around was when I was talking to Alli on the phone, it scared the crap out of me and I shut it into my room. No problems. I'd just let Dh deal with it when he got home. Boy, was I wrong. The damn bat (while I was on the phone with Alli again) crawled under the door and flew right at me. I tripped over Baron, slammed my back on the edge of the kitchen counter, and fell on the ground. MIL and FIL came over that night as well, but we never found the bat. Fast-forward to Monday night. I was coming home around 9pm, and as soon as I turned on the hall light, the bat buzzed me. I ran upstairs, barricaded myself in my bedroom, and called the in laws. They came, and of course couldn't find the bat. It was hiding somewhere in the basement. My FIL finally saw him flying around and found where he was hiding. Our house is a multi-level house. The bottom two levels are almost like stairs, one level lower than the other. The upper level isn't finished and the lower one is. He was hiding behind the sheet rock on the rise between the two levels! No wonder we couldn't find him! Finally my FIL got him and killed him. I'm releaved that this is all over. Or at least I hope it is!

Even More Scrappy Goodness! *UPDATED with better pictures!*

I know I actually need to write something soon, especially an update on the whole bat fiasco (hopefully later this week I can get to that story), but for now here are some layouts I did while Lindar and Mo where over this past weekend. I took all of the pics at night, with no flash, so they're not the greatest, but you get the picture. Just about everything is from the Studio Calico kit from April.
Yes, that's me in the next picture, with my Mom. The picture is from the early 80's.
Now I'm off to watch Gossip Girl from last night. Hopefully it starts up as good as it left off before the writer's strike.

A cutie picture of my cutie niece.

Hope you enjoy!

Cool Pic

I took this photo last night when I let the dogs out - around 2:30am. It looks like a sad and lonely tea party or something. It's a little blurry, but I thought it turned out cool!

They're Baaaack!

Tonight is the night of returns - First the good one - The Office is finally back!! I can't wait for the episode tonight and it's great knowing that it will be on for the next couple of weeks as well! Second - a bad one - Snow is back!! We're supposed to get 5-8 inches around my house. It's coming down like a mofo right now. We even have our deck furniture out!
Someone on the radio said that this is Paul Douglas' (one of the local weathermen) way of getting us back for his getting fired. Now that would be some control!

Saturday my family came over. Here's my niece putting on the new My Little Pony socks I got for her. She had to put one of each on.
Here's my Mom and my Niece rocking. I love this picture!
Hopefully this next year will be as great as the last! Thanks again!
